What does the red "F1000 recommended" badge mean next to my publication?
The red F1000 recommended badge, which sometimes appears under publications, is an indicator informing you that a specific output has been picked out by F1000’s Faculty of independent life sciences experts as something that is of particular interest and/or potential importance to other researchers and research more broadly - and is included in the F1000Prime database. F1000Prime brings together the article recommendations of a virtual, independent Faculty of over 8000 leading life science experts from across the world on those research outputs that they think are particularly interesting, important, and/or novel. F1000Prime’s purpose is to be a guide to what’s best in science; articles not recommended by F1000Prime experts are not necessarily of lesser value of course, but a recommendation on an article provides an added stamp of potential significance. An F1000Prime article recommendation is an established indicator of potential research importance and can complement quantitative citation-based indicators.
