Release Date:
Thursday, 28 November, 2019

Version:
2019.23

Better user experience

  • Improve – Text changes were made to the answers given on the platform and exports to the following question within Influence on policy. “Has this influence on policy led to any of the following impacts?”. The changes were:
    • Change “Improvements in survival, morbidity or quality of life” to “Improvements in public well-being: quality of life or morbidity or survival”
    • Change “Changed public attitudes to societal issues” to ‘Changed public attitudes’.
  • Improve - With the RHT uploader being rolled out updated text has been added to the RHT template to provide more information so FUNDERS can upload data without errors, or if errors are triggered that they have enough information available about how to fix them.
  • Improve – Changes to the help text for FWF Summaries for Public Relations
  • Improve – An upgrade to some underlying software means we have had some tidying up to do on how users experience the platform. This included tidying up icons, banners, headers and the overall page layout.
  • Improve – Where a FUNDER has the column ‘Award Type’ as part of their funder specific categories within the RHT upload file, this remains ‘optional’ whereas the system specific column ‘Award Type’ appears in column F and is ‘mandatory’.
  • Fix - When a Researcher edits a further funding outcome that has a location, and does not select a location, the system now triggers an error if they try to save the edit.
  • Fix - When editing an existing Next Destination record, the validation for the location API lookup field now clears the value currently present when r4_12 answered "No", but it does not clear the un-editable location. Likewise, if a Next Destination has successfully been saved with a "No" in r4_12 the RESEARCHER cannot edit this entry without selecting a location.
  • Fix – When a Researcher is searching for further funding, duplicate records no longer appear.

Enhanced data collection

  • Improve – Additional questions added with extra Information about Further Funding for Ataxia UK
  • Improve – Updates to Education and Professional Training Additional question for Nova Nordisk Fonden
  • Fix - When a RESEARCHER enters a currency value to the 'add partner' within the 'collaborations and partnerships', we now store the ISO currency code in the database e.g. EUR instead of the label text value for the following two questions:
    • Has this collaboration or partnership brought a direct financial contribution to your research?
    • Has this collaboration or partnership brought an in-kind contribution to your research?
    • Note the fields affected are r2_1_4 and r2_1_7.
  • Fix - When a further funding outcome is created by a RESEARCHER, but not attributed to any award, the start and end months are now stored with the key value "03" and not the dropdown e.g "March" within the database. Note the fields affected are r3_5 and r3_7.

Enabling data exploration & insights

  • Improve – When a Funder or Research Organisation downext amended on the guidance support document for the Influence on Policy export.

System updates were made to ensure the platform is accessible and secure.
