ADDED: back end database support for improving the quality/provenance of Further Funding outcomes.

ADDED: user login now accepts either the username or the email address registered against the account.

IMPROVED: clearer help text during account creation, to discourage the use of institutional email addresses (if a user moves institution, they lose access to their institutional email address).
