Take a look at the improvements and fixes added to the platform in the latest release.
---------------------------------------------
Better user experience / Reducing the burden
---------------------------------------------
Improve - We have improved the display and function for none publication api searches for Researchers with the following changes:
- Additional instructions have been included where Researchers are asked to add a location to make it clearer that they can search for the location, department, country or url as part of the search.
- Text in the cells is top-aligned and cells are padded to improve legibility
- Replaced the full text display of the url column with a clickable link icon that displays the full url on hover, and opens a new tab when clicked
- Users can now click anywhere in a row to select an item
- Hovering over a row highlights the row and changes the cursor to a pointer unless the row is not selectable
- Replaced left radio button (in the first column of the table) used to select the rows, with a square icon that can be navigated and selected using keyboard navigation
- When adding entries manually, we hide the full Funding Search bar set of “search by…” options and show just the field where the user can enter the name of the organisation that provided funding.
- When a Researcher is viewing the results list of a search for items using DataCite within Artistic & Creative Products, Research Database & Models, Software and Technical Products & Research Tools & Methods, we have made sure that the DOI appears as a clickable link in the results list. The link appears as an icon (rather than the full link text string), and we have added “Publisher” as an item in the list.
Improve - When a user registers an ORCID account, we now prompt them to set their harvesting preference. There is now way for users to change their ORCID harvest preference. This is only applicable to users who have a linked ORCID account with their Researchfish account.
Improve - Updated design of welcome and account emails.
Improve - Updated detail for Publication Search Descriptions for Researchers.
Improve - Updated funder specific platform guidance text for Wellcome Trust Researchers.
Fixed - Awards can now be submitted for the 2nd time as expected when Additional Funder Questions that are set up to be required on first submission, then optional for subsequent submission periods, are saved as a draft. In these situations, the Additional Questions now display as expected, with a green status and not required for the award to be submitted, but red when saved as draft and required for the award to be submitted.
---------------------------------------------
Enhanced data collection
---------------------------------------------
Improve - Set up an Additional Question for NordForsk; “How has the project produced Nordic added value?”
Improve - Added information on the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada as a further funding source featuring approximately 225,000 grants.
